Heritage Helpers "Edgar Hart Series" Heritage Base Kit and Expansion Packs

It's finally arrived! The long awaited first series designed especially for Family Historians and Genealogists.

Genealogists have long been looking for an attractive way to print and display all the different kinds of data they accumulate when doing family history research, from census data to cemetery photographs. Here, at long last, is a kit series designed especially for this purpose. Each page was specifically designed for a particular data record, giving you an easy and attractive way to display your family archival material. 

I have named this series after my maternal grandfather, "Edgar Hart". All of the sample images you will see throughout this series depict my actual family data, so you can really see how it looks with real world data. Here are some Samples:

This series is designed for 8.5 x 11 printing at 300 dpi. You can use any standard printer to print out your pages, and this design looks terrific printed on plain white printer paper. You can certainly feel free to enhance the look even further by printing on parchment or other textured paper.

The Base Kit 

The first item you should have is the Base Kit. It is intended to give you additional tools that you can use to enhance or make additional pages to the Expansion Packs that will be coming. Rather than offering one huge kit with everything, I decided to divide up the material into relevant subsets, so that you can take only the parts you need or are working on currently, or so that you can purchase it in small, easy to manage pieces. Using the base kit, you can easily personalize ready-made pages, or create your own coordinating ones.

The base kit includes the following items:

2 coordinating background papers

1 light journaling area with faded edges for use on the dark paper, to make it easier to write with dark colors 

1 page border 

1 area border 

1 design embellishment 

10 various styles of journaling boxes (You will see how I have used these to nice advantage as you look through my samples for the various modules)

Expansion Packs

The Expansion Packs are designed to coordinate with the overall look of the series, and will usually include ready made pages for you to jump right in, plus individual elements for you to use in connection with the base kit items to build your own matching designs.

Other things are planned as well, but I don't have images to share with you yet. I am going to be doing some things with eras, like the Pilgrim Era, the Pioneer Movement etc.

I am also currently developing a line of information about different decades or years, called "Life and Times" modules, so that you can use this to enhance your understanding of your ancestors by placing them in context of what was happening in the world during their lifetimes. You will also see some of this done as you browse through my samples, using the tags from the base kit. In fact, here is a portion of a census record to show you what I mean:

I remember my grandfather quite fondly as being a kind an gentle man. But I learned so much more about him after getting some photographs and old records from family. I was only 8 when he died, but I dearly wish I could have known him better.
